Ciao tutti!<\/p>\n
I hope everyone had a great week! It’s been nice and really hot here.\u00a0 I really wouldn’t mind the heat too much if I could wear shorts and didn’t have a collar choking me, but I can’t lie it is pretty hot here.\u00a0 It’s nice though!<\/p>\n
Ok first things first.\u00a0 TRANSFER CALL.\u00a0 So we had transfer calls last Saturday on the 4th of July and we got our call at the beginning of companionship study.\u00a0 So the big news is I am…. Staying!\u00a0 I am staying in Rome 1 with Anziano Rasband and surprisingly Sorelle Nagliati, Cano, Kennedy, and Harmon are all staying too!\u00a0 We are the only district in the entire mission that doesn’t have a single change!\u00a0 I thought that was pretty sweet.\u00a0 The Sorelle here in Rome 1 are really hard workers.\u00a0 They get work done that is for sure.\u00a0 They have awesome work going on right now and have some really cool investigators.\u00a0 So yeah we will all be here for another whole transfer.<\/p>\n
I am looking forward to this next transfer and I really want to keep working hard to do all I can do to help those the Lord has prepared.\u00a0 This work can’t be done alone.\u00a0 We have so much help and I am constantly seeing miracles and blessings that are always coming our way.\u00a0 We see miracles that are made up of mini miracles and it just leads to things that are so rewarding and so cool to witness and experience.\u00a0 I know that when we do all we can to live righteous lives and do all we can to follow Christ and obey God’s commandments He will bless us.\u00a0 No sacrifice goes unnoticed.\u00a0 He works on His own timetable and in His own way, but He will always follow through.\u00a0 He blesses us with way more than we even put in sometimes.\u00a0 I know that this is true for all of us.<\/p>\n
We are still working to try to find some new investigators and we are really working to press forward and continue to find people to teach.\u00a0 We only got to meet with a couple of people this week.\u00a0 We are hoping to meet with some new people we have found and talked to earlier this week.\u00a0 I am really excited to talk to some of them.\u00a0 I have a super good feeling about some of these new people.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, on the way back home, a younger guy started asking us some questions he had and they were good, genuine questions and he definitely seemed to have interest.\u00a0 We were talking and he just said excuse me after a little and started asking some questions.\u00a0 He was really cool and he unfortunately couldn’t give us his number, but I really hope that he will give us a call.\u00a0 We do really have a lot of awesome people we want to see.<\/p>\n
This week will be a little strange though.\u00a0 We have to go up to Terni after p-day is over because Anziano Calvagna was companions with Anziano Barrows who finishes his mission tomorrow and they have appointments they need to get to and we are the only ones that can go up there, so we will be spending a few days up there and be back here Thursday morning.\u00a0 It will be cool to see the work that he has up there and I look forward to learning what I need to learn while I am there.<\/p>\n
So last night we had the opportunity to have a fireside with Elder Quentin L. Cook and it was really really awesome.\u00a0 He came because his granddaughter, Sorella Knight, is finishing her mission this week.\u00a0 We had wonderful things shared by one of the Assistants, Anziano Puff, Sorella Waddoups, President Waddoups, and then Elder Cook.\u00a0 It was a really good conference and it was really nice to feel the spirit so strongly.\u00a0 He gave a really good fireside that had a lot of really edifying things and I really enjoyed it.\u00a0 He talked about Joesph Smith and really testified of the things that he did and how as missionaries we are preaching the same things that he taught.\u00a0 We are to heed to the promptings of the Spirit to make sure that we reach the needs of those that we come in contact with.\u00a0 It was really spiritual and he shared on some other revelations contained in the Doctrine & Covenants.\u00a0 I don’t have a ton of time to share it all right now.\u00a0 Something I have noticed Elder Cook is talking a lot about recently though is families.\u00a0 I really enjoyed his past article in the Ensign as well as his last General Conference talk.\u00a0 Reaping the Rewards of Righteousness<\/em> is the article and then The Lord is My Light<\/em> is the talk.\u00a0\u00a0 They are both awesome and I know that he truly is an Apostle of the Lord and helps all of us today.\u00a0 I know that when we take their counsel and guidance we will be blessed.<\/p>\n I have to go right now, but hope everyone has a great week and I love you all!<\/p>\n Love,<\/p>\n Anziano Garrett<\/p>\n L to R: Elder Cook, Sister Cook, Sister Waddoups, President Waddoups (photo from Sister Waddoups’ blog), July 5, 2015<\/p><\/div>\n Shaking hands with Sister Cook (photo from Sister Waddoups’ blog), July 5, 2015<\/p><\/div>\n![\"L](\"http:\/\/taylorgarrett.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Elder-Cook-3.jpg\")
